ඕ, n. The fifteenth letter of the alphabet. It is a long o which retains its initial sound to the end, and does not, like the English long o, terminate in oo: consequently it is a broad and, to English ears, a bightly vulgar sound.

ඕෂය, n. burning, combustion, දැවීම, දාහය.

ඕනවා, v. t. to insert, put in, pour into, fill, දමනවා, වක්කරනවා, පුරවනවා; pret. ඒනුවා.

ඕවිට, n. low flat ground, heath or deserted ground; pl. ඕවිලි.

ඕජෝවර්‍ධනයකරනවා, v. (ඕජො‍් fr. ඕජස්), to increase power or splendour, බලය or තේජස වැඩිකරනවා.

ඕෂධීය, n. herb, annual plant. E. S.

ඕනෑකම, n. need, necessity, want, urgency.

ඕනෑමකරනවා, v. t. to render necessary, necessitate, be essential or most requisite.

ඕනෑකමින්, ad. urgently, intently, earnestly.

ඕවාලකැටයම, ඕවාලසණ්ඨානය, n. intaglio.
