ඔ, n. The fourteenth letter of the alphabet: a short o of which there is no exact equivalent in English. It is the short sound of the next vowel and is much like the vowel in hope pronounced very short without making it like hop or not.

ඔප්පුවෙනවා, v. i. to become proved.

ඔජ වඩනවා, v. to make a fuss, make much ado.

ඔසබිය, ඔසඹිය, n. a drug.

ඔවස් පියෙස, n. open space, courtyard, compound, මිදුල.

ඔප්පුතප්පු, ඔප්පුතිරප්පු, n. pl. legal deeds and papers.

ඔටුනු පැලඳීම, or පැලඳවීම, v. n. donning the crown, coronation.

ඔකඳ, n. great stream or quantity of fluid, torrent, බලවත් සැඩපාර; laughter, සිනාව.

ඔත, n. falsehood, බොරුව.
