ස්තෝත්‍රය, n. fr. සතු to praise: praise, eulogium, ප්‍රශංසාව.

සිපිනවා, v. t. to kiss, සිඹිනවා.

සිංහල, a. Sinhalese: (සිංහ lion, ල to take or bay). The word is said to be derived from සිංහබාහු whose father was a lion. සිංහබාහු bew the lion, and in consequence his descendants from his son විජය who conquered and colonized Ceylon received the name සිංහල.
