ශ්‍රවණාව, n. twenty-third lunar asterism, containing three stars, Alpha, Beta and Gamma of Aquila.

ශීතකාරය, n. lit. what makes ශීත්, viz. the sound ශීත්, made when one shivers with cold or has a pleasurable sensation.

ශක්‍යතාව, n. possibility &c., වියහැකිකම &c.

ශ, n. The first of the seventh or sibilant class of letters. It is a palatal sibilant and its true sound is probably a light Sh as heard in the word Cession; but in general usage it does not differ from the dental ස. Some words are written either with ශ or ස.

ශෛල·මුද්‍රිත, a. lithographed, ලිපිකළ ගලෙන් අච්චු ගසාපු.

ශෛල·විද්‍යාව, ශෛලවිස්තරය, n. petrology, ගල් ගැන්වූ විද්‍යාව or විස්තරය.

ශස්‍ය·ශුක, n. awn or beard of corn.

ශිරෝ·ධාතුව, n. head-relic of Buddha.

ශුභ්‍ර, a. (fr. ශුහ් to shine), shining, දීප්තිමත්, white, blonde, සුදු.

ශීතෝෂ්ණ·මානක·යන්ත්‍රය, n. thermometer.
