ශක·වර්‍ෂය, n. ශක: a term applied to any king from the beginning of whose reign the years are reckoned, so that ශකවර්‍ෂය is the Saka year or era, of which in this කලියුගය there have been three, instituted severally by the kings යුධිෂ්ඨිර, වික්‍රමාදිත්‍ය, and ශාලිවාහන; this last is the present era which began A. D. 78.

ශිරශ්·චර්‍මය, n. skin of the head, pericranium, ඉසේහම.

ශික්‍ෂාකාමි, a. desirous of instruction, ඉගැනීමට ලැදි; devoted to religion, උපාසක.

ශුභවූ, a. auspicious, happy, prosperous,වාසනාවන්ත.

ශුකයා, n. parrot, ගිරවා.

ශිණිතාව, n. emaciation, කෙට්ටුකම.

ශ්‍රී·යුක්ත, a. replete with wealth &c., prosperous, wealthy, illustrious, see ශ්‍රීමත්.

ශ්‍රිංගිවේර, n. Er. for ශෘංගවේර.

ශේෂ, a. remaining, residual, left, අවශේෂ, ඉතුරු.

ශංකා, n. pl. or a. doubts, අනුමාන; doubtful, doubting, සැකවූ.
