පුරාණය, n. One of a class of H. sacred and poetical works, which are said to have been compiled or composed by the poet ව්‍යාස. Of these there are eighteen, with eighteen supplementary works called Upa Purana, උප පුරාණ. They treat of the creation, destruction and renovation of worlds, the genealogy and achievements of gods and heroes, the reigns of the Man us and the transactions of their descendants. These works constitute the H. theology, and are much studied.

ප්‍රති·ඝාතනය, n. (ප්‍රති again, repeatedly), killing, baughter, මරාදැමීම.

‍‍පේනුකරනවා, v. t. to cherish, ආ‍‍දරේ කරනවා, guard, ආරක්‍ෂාකරනවා.

පනාව, n. comb: see අධහද පනාව, නැමි පනාව, රැල් පනාව and පීරනපනාව.

පිඹුරා, n. rock-snake, python molurus, said sometimes to attain a length of eighteen feet and twenty-seven inches in circumference; pl. පිඹුරෝ.

පාදදරයා, n. snake, සර්‍පයා.

පොට්ටයා, n. man blind of one eye or having a defective eye; blind man, කණ.

ප්‍ර·දූෂක, a. making bad or filthy, defiling, දූෂ්‍යකරන.

ප්‍රත්‍යවේක්‍ෂණය, n. (ප්‍රති towards, අවේක්‍ෂණය looking), looking towards, considering, cogitating, කල්පනාකර බැලීම.

ප්‍රත්‍යන්ත·දේශය, n. outlying or foreign country, පරදේශය; non-buddhistic country.
