නළය, n. air, wind, හුළඟ.

නියමකරනවා, v. t. to appoint, settle, decide.

න, prefix, with a negative, privative or prohibitive force. Its normal form is නො, as නොකර, but its vowel is varied according to the vowel which follows and sometimes is merely න‍. Thus නාරින for නොඅරින, නෑර, for නොඇර, නේන for නොඑන, නූපන් for නො උපන්, නුදුටු &c., but not නී, as නොඉල්ලා, not නීල්ලා.

නැව්·නගි (ඟී)නවා, v. i. to embark; pret. නැව් නැග්ගා or නැව්·නැඟුණා or නැව්නැංගා; v. n. නැව් නැගීම.

නායක·තුමා, නායකයා, n. chief, president, ප්‍රධානියා.

නිදි·ගැට, n. drowsiness, නිදිමතකම.

නීත්‍යනූකූල, නීත්‍යාකාර, a. (නීති අනුකූල, ආකාර), accordant with law, statutable, නීතියට එකඟ.

නිර්‍ජන, a. unpeopled, desolate, lonely, සෙනඟනැති, පාළු.

නො·මනා, a. unpleasant, disagreeable.

නාගාන්තකයා, n. snake-destroyer, viz, the bird Garuda, peacock &c. as enemies of snakes.
