අංගාරවල්ලිනි, bind-weed, Ipomoea chryseides, තැල්වැල.

අකුරකින් විදිනවා, v. to shoot with a small stone for augury. This is done by taking stones between the two fore-fingers and projecting them against the bark and leaves of trees and then predicting coming events according to the marks made by the stones.

අග්ගලාව, n. sweet-ball, made of flour and jaggery.

අතු පතු ගානවා, v. (පතු expletive, imitative of අතු), to sweep and such like, do odd jobs.

අතුර, n. intervening space, inter-space, interstice, crevice, සිදුර; interval, අතරතුර; connecting rope between coconut trees; pl. අතුරු.

අධි මාසය, n. intercalary month, consisting of the difference between the solar and lunar year; super or superior month, viz., the first of any two months that begin during one and the same sign of the zodiac.
