අනේ, අනේක, a. (අන් එක), not one only, several, manifold, various, නොයෙක්.

අනේක ප්‍රකාර, අනේකාකාර, a. various, manifold, multiform, multifarious, mixed, නො යෙක් ආකාර, මිශ්‍ර.

අෂ්ට විද්‍යා, n. pl. the eight kinds of knowledge possessed by Rahats, viz. 1 knowledge attained by religious meditation, 2 knowledge of how to perform supernatural things, 3 knowledge of the various supernatural powers, 4 divine or supernatural hearing, 5 knowledge of others' hearts, 6 knowledge of previous existences, 7 divine sight, 8 knowledge of how to subdue the passions.

උච්චාවච, a. high and low, uneven, various, උස්පහත්, අනේකාකාර.

උපනුපන්, v. adj. pret. (උපන් උපන්): born and born, viz. who or when or where was born (in various births).

කතිපය, a. several, various, කීප.

කල්පය, n. a period said to be equal to a day of Brahma which equals 4,320,000,000 solar years: it is the Sakwala or world period, which is divided into four parts, viz. its formation, its duration, its destruction and its non-entity until the commencement of its reformation. It is difficult, however, to reconcile the various statements one with another, since during the Kalpa the age of man is said to gradually increase from ten years to an asankhya and again to diminish gradually to ten years: an asankhya being about the twentieth power of a million.

කෑරලා, n. woodpecker (of various species); pl. කෑරල්ලු.

කීප, a. several, various.

කුරුමිනී කුරුල්ලා, n. bee-eater, beetle-eating bird of various species.

කෘෂ්ණාව, n. ap. of Draupadi (ද්‍රෞපදී) wife of the five Pāndava (පාණ්ඩව) princes; also name of various dark or black plants: see Bot.

කොකා, n. crane, heron, stork; pl. කොක්කු. For the various kinds see කන..., කරවැල්..., මානන්..., බෙලි... and සුදු කොකා.

ගණේශ, n. (ගණ companies or classes, ඊශ Lord), the god of wisdom, son of Siva and පාර්‍වතී. His image in H. temples is that of a short, fat man with an elephant's head. He is appealed to and worshipped as the remover of obstacles in all undertakings and compositions. He is chief of the various classes of subordinate deities who are Siva's attendants.

තල·ගස්·ජාති, n. pl. the various kinds of palm trees.
