නව·ලෝකෝත්තරධර්‍ම, n. pl. (ලෝක උත්තර), the nine world-eminent doctrines, viz. those relating to the four stages or courses of purification with their four fruitions and Nirvána. The four courses &c. are: සෝවාන් මාර්‍ගය and ඵලය, සකෘදාගාමි මාර්‍ගය and ඵලය, අනාගාමි මාර්‍ගය and ඵලය, අර්‍හත් මාර්‍ගය and ඵලය and නිර්‍වාණය. See each term.

මලාපකර්‍ෂණය, n. (මල filth, අප... ⋯ drawing away), removal of filth, purification, පවිත්‍ර කිරීම.

මහ·බිනික්මන්, n. E. of මහාභිනිෂ්ක්‍රමණ්‍ය: (see අබිනික්මන්), the great out-going or renunciation, viz. (Gautama's) going forth from household to monastic life for purification to attain buddhahood.

යඥ·යෝග්‍යය, n. what is fit to be offered, having been prepared by purification &c.

යමය, n. performance of religious rites for purification, ආගමේ පිළිවෙත් පැවැත්වීම; self-restraint, government of the passions, ක්ලේශ නවත්වා—මැඩපවත්වා-ගැනීම, සංයමය, වැලකීම.

වි·ශෝධනය, n. purifying, purification, emendation &c., ශුද්ධකිරීම &c.

ශුවිය, n. white colour, සුදුපාට; moon, හඳ; purification, පවිත්‍රවීම, purity, පවිත්‍රකම, virtue, සුචරිතය; correctness, හරිකම.

සං·ස්කාර, n. (සං. complete කෘ to do, make), accomplishing, completing, ඉෂ්ට or සම්පූර්‍ණ කිරීම; embellishment, සැරසීම rite of purification, පිරිසිදුකිරීමේ චාරිත්‍රය; consecration, කැපකිරීම; faculty, ශරීරයේ හෝ සිහියේ යම් බලයක්; = P. සංඛාරො, aggregates, all existing things, the material universe.

සතර·මග, n. pl. the above four paths or successive stages of purification to attain Nirvāna.

‍සෞමය, n. For ‍ශෞව fr. ශුචි white: purification, cleansing, පවිත්‍රවීම, purity, පිරිසුදුකම.
