කටපයාදිය, n. (ක, ට, ප, ය, ආදිය). A mnemonic system of letters nsed as numerals, කටපය being the first column, thus: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 ක ඛ ග ඝ ඬ ච ඡ ජ ඣ ඤ ට ඨ ඩ ඪ ණ ත ථ ද ධ න ප ඵ බ භ ම ය ර ල ව ශ ෂ ස හ ළ. Each letter in each column represents the figure under which it is placed. The above consonants must in reading be vocalized with vowels, though the vowels count for nothing. E. g., ගජකම, reading backwards=5 1 8 3.

කමකටනැති, කමක්නැති, a. good-for-nothing, worthless, unnecessary.

කිසි, adj. pron. any, some: generally with neg., as කිසිදෙයක් නෑ, There is nothing.

කිසිත්, indef. pron. anything; with neg. nothing.

කේවල වෛයාකරණයා, n. a mere grammarian (versed in nothing else).

නැති, a. which is or are not: නැතිදෙයක්, a thing which is not; හොඳනැති දෙයක්, a thing which is not good; කිසිත් නැති මිනිහා, a man who has—to whom there is—nothing.

නැතිකම, n. non-existence, nothingness, lack.

නි·කමට, ad. for nothing, gratuitouby, with no object or sufficient reason.

නි·කම්, ad. merely, only, idly, as නිකම් ඉන් නවා or තිබෙනවා, merely is, or is without employment or use, is or are &c. doing nothing.

නිට්ටාවෙනවා, v. i. to perish totally, come to nothing, නැතිවෙනවා.

පරි·කසිණ, n. (පරි around, කසිණ all), an observance and attainment of ascetics preparatory to the performance of ධ්‍යාන: it consists of one of the following, viz. තේජෝකසිණ, ආ පෝකසිණ, ආකාසෝකසිණ or පඨවිකසිණ. The mind and all its faculties must be so concentrated upon its object that nothing else is perceptible to the senses. See each one of the four.

බෝයි, int. (lit. it is much), there's nothing.

මොකවත්, pron. neu. something, anything; with neg. nothing.
