අ නීමින්ත, a. causeless, හේතුවක් නැති; unmarked, ලකුණක් නැති.

අ මර පුර, n. or a. city of the Immortals, viz. Amarapura, a city of Burma.

අ මර පුර නිකාය, n. Amarapura sect of Buddhists introduced into Ceylon about A. D. 1800 by Ambagahapitiya priest; the priests of this sect are in communion with priests of Burma.

අක් මුල්නැති, a. without beginning or end, without head or tail, aimless, rigmarole.

අකුරකින් විදිනවා, v. to shoot with a small stone for augury. This is done by taking stones between the two fore-fingers and projecting them against the bark and leaves of trees and then predicting coming events according to the marks made by the stones.
