අ ප්‍රකෘති, a. not of the root or essence, මුලට අඩංගුනැති; gram. servile, as අප්‍රකෘත්‍යක්ෂරය, servile letter.

අ වශ්‍ය, අ වශ්‍යක, a. (අ priv., වශ subject), certain, positive, සත්තක; requisite, necessary, essential, ඕනෑමවූ.

අනවශෘක, a. (අන් අව:), unessential, unnecessary, unimportant, ඉතා වැදගත්නොවන.

අශ්ම රස, අශ්ම සාර, n. lit. stone essence, viz. iron, යකඩ; also රසාඤ්ජන, which see.

අෂ්ට ධර්‍මය, n. the law of eight, viz. the eight essentials for becoming a Buddha: 1 manhood, 2 the male sex, 3 merit, 4 to have seen a Buddha, 5 ascetic condition, monkhood, 6 virtuousness, 7 aspiration to Buddhahood, 8 a strenuous heart for it.

අසුන් හැරි, n. messenger, පණිවිඩකාරයා.

ආවශ්‍යක, a. important, necessary, essential, ඕනෑමකරන, අවශ්‍යක.

උරච්චිකරනවා, v. t. to rub, උලනවා, polish, මදි නවා; extract essence by rubbing.

ඕනෑමකරනවා, v. t. to render necessary, necessitate, be essential or most requisite.
