අංශකය, n. degree of a dial or circle; day, දින; share or dowry, දෑවැද්ද.

අංශය, n. part, portion; side, limb (of the moon, &c.); degree.

අග්‍ර ප්‍රාප්ත, a. that has attained the summit or utmost degree. මුදුන්පත්.

අඩිය, n. the base, bottom; footstep, step; step of ladder; foot of twelve inches; fig. step, degree.

අඩු තරම, n. deficient or inferior degree either in size, rank, quality or quantity, inferiority.

අඩු තරම්, n. pl. or a. low degrees; deficient, inferior.

අත නූල් බඳිනවා, v. to tie a charmed thread on the arm (for sickness); to tie a thread on the hands of a bride and bridegroom.

අති ප්‍රමාණ වාචකය, n. gram. superlative expression or degree, word or form which expresses the superlative.

අධමකරනවා, v. t. to degrade, humiliate, යටත් පහත් කරනවා.

අධෝ ගත, a. gone down, descended, පහත බැස්ස, degraded, අධම, නීච.

අනති ක්‍රම, a. (අන් priv., අති excessive, ක්‍රම degree), not excessive, වැඩිනැති, moderate, temperate.

අනධික ප්‍රමාණ, a. of unsurpassed degree, the utmost, ඉතා අධිකතර.

අන්තඃ කල්පය, n. a certain number of years in Buddhism: according to B. man's age increases by imperceptible degrees from ten years to an Asankhya (අසංඛ්‍ය) and then decreases in the same way to ten years: the period required for this is an Antahkalpa. See අසංඛ්‍ය.

අප කර්‍ෂක, a. drawing down, debasing, degrading, පහතට අදින, නීචකරන.

අරුන්ධතී, n. wife of the rishi Vasishtha: she is the model wife and is invoked by the bridegroom at the marriage; Pleiades, හත්දින්න, (or one of the stars thereof).
