අ විශ්වාසකරනවා, v. t. to disbelieve, discredit, distrust.

අ විශ්වාසය, n. disbelief, distrust, incredulity, unbelief, විශ්වාස නො‍කෙරීම, නොඇදහිල්ල.

අගන්‍යාගාරය, අගන්‍යාලය, n. (අග්නි ආගාරය, ආලය) house or hall of sacred fire, ශුඬගිනිආ ගාරය.

අග්නි රක්ෂණය, n. maintaining (sacred) fire.

අති පරි ශුධ, a. most pure or holy, sacred, ඉතා ශුධ.

අවන්ති, n. name of the city Oujein: one of the seven sacred cities of India, to die in which secures eternal bliss; also name of the country, මාලවදේශය.

අවිශ්වාස්‍ය, a. not to be believed or trusted, untrustworthy, incredible, unfaithful: see අවිශ්වාස.

අස්ත කඩදාසිය, n. license, warrant, credential.

ඉතිවුත්තකය, n. for Sans. ඉත්‍යුක්තක, lit. Thus said: B., name of one of the nine divisions of the sacred books or science, consisting of works in the catechetical form.

ක්ෂේත්‍රය, n. field, කෙත, පි‍ටිටනිය; body, ශරීරය; wife, භාර්‍ය්‍යව; sacred place, ශුඬස්ථානය; diagram, සටහන.

කාංචිය, n. a woman's girdle; name of a H. sacred city. Bot.

කුශ තෘණ, කුස තණ, n. arrow or razor grass, a sacred or sacrificial grass, ඉළුක්. It is said that on the occasion the Buddha attained his Buddhahood a handful of this grass being presented to him, he threw it on the ground under a Bo-tree and it at once became a seat for him.

කුශතෘණ, arrow-grass, Paspalum sanguinale (Gram.). It is regazided as sacred because when a handful of it Was given to Buddha by a Brahman he cast it under a Bo-tree and it immediately became a seat for him.

ගයා, n. the city Gayā in Bīhār, famed as the residence of Buddha and also called Buddha Gayā, and regarded as a sacred place by Hindus. Buddha is said to have been born in a forest near this city.
