අ නාථ පිණ්ඩක, අ නාථ පිණ්ඩික, a. giving alms to the destitute, charitable, දන්දෙන; ep. of a B. noble who was a contemporary of Buddha.

අටඟ මග, n. (අට, අග portion, section), the eightfold way to Nirvāna, i. e. the way embracing eight sections, viz. — 1. සම්‍යක් දෘෂ්ටිය, right view, orthodoxy. 2. සම්‍යක් සංකල්පනාව, right volition or determination. 3. සම්‍යක් වචනය, right speech. 4. සම්‍යක් කර්‍මන්තය, right action. 5. සම්‍යක් ආජීවය, right living or livelihood. 6. සම්‍යක් ව්‍යායාමය, right effort. 7. සම්‍යක් සමෘතිය, right remembrance or contemplation of the past. 8. සම්‍යක් සමාධිය, right meditation.

අව ඥාත, a. disrespected, disdained, contemned, ගෞරවරහිත, සුළුකරනලද.

අව මත, a. (අව low, මත regarded), despised, contemned, scorned, සුළුකොට or නීචකොට සිතනලද, despicable, නීච.

අව මතිය, n. disesteem, contempt, scorn, සුළු කොට or නීචකොට සිතීම.

අව මාන්න, අව මාන්‍ය, a. ignoble, dishonourable, disreputable, contemptible, despicable, ඉතා සුළු, නීච: see අවනම්බු.
