*වි·නාශක, වි·නාශකර, වි·නාශදායක, a. (වි emp.), destroying, destructive, consuming, noxious, ruinous, causing or bringing destruction, නාස්තිකරන, නාස්තික.

අ, n. The first letter of the Alphabet. It varies bightly in pronunciation, depending sometimes on the meaning or derivation and sometimes on the consonants with which it is combined. It is (1) the clear, distinct sound obtained by shortening ආ ah; (2) the sound of a in negative or miracle. In initial syllables the sound is generally the first of these; the second arises from the dropping of the voice in the unaccented syllables. It is written only when it is the initial letter of a word, but is pronounced after every consonant to which no other vowel is attached, or where it is not suppressed by the sign ්, as කරනවා, karanavā, the final vowel අ, which is long, alone being written;කරන් karan, the vowel අ after න being suppressed by the sign ්.

අ කැප, a. not dedicated, unconsecrated, improper, කැපනැති.

අ ඛණ්ඩනය, n. non-violation, නොකැඩීම, entireness, completeness, සම්පූර්‍ණකම; time or continuance, කාලය or පැවතීම.

අ ඛණ්ඩිත a. unbroken, inviolate, කැඩී නැති, කඩකර නැති, entire, whole, සම්පූර්‍ණ, continuous, අනවරත.

අ ඛණ්ඩිතතාව, අ ඛණ්ඩිතත්වය, n. state of not being broken, entirety, &c., කැඩීනැති ස්වභාව, continuity, පැවතීම.

අ ගුප්ත, a. unconcealed, open, exoteric, සැඟවී නැති, ප්‍රසිඬ.

අ චය, අ ව්තීය , a. lit. secondless, viz. the only, sole, unique, එකමවූ; non-dual; peerless, (E. S.): n. non-duality.

අ චින්ත්‍ය, a. inconceivable, incomprehensible, inscrutable, සිතිය or දැනගත නොහැකිවූ (දේ).

අ චින්ත්‍යතාව, n. inconceivability, &c., සිතියනො හැකි භාවය.

අ චින්තිත. a. unthought of, unconsidered, කල්පනානූණ.

අ චිරවතිය, n. second of the five great rivers issuing from lake Anavatatta. See අනව තත්ත විල.

අ චේතන, අ චේතනික, අ චේතසික, අ චේතසක, a. destitute of mind or thought, සිහිබුද්ධි නැති; unconscious, දැනීමනැති; inanimate, lifeless, පණනැති; involuntary, involitive (mood, &c.), ඉබේ වෙන්නාවූ, අකර්‍මක.
