අ ජෘම්භීත, a. unexpanded. unopened, unblown, පිපීනැති; nat. hist. obsolete, යටපත්වූ.

අංග ජ, a. produced by the body, ශරීරයෙන් අට ගත්, as children, hair, blood, &c.

අප වාදය, n. dispraise, censure, obloquy, අගුණ කීම, කේලම.

අමන, v. adj. pres. of අමනවා: blowing, ගසන (හුළඟ).

අමනවා, v. i. to blow (as the wind); to pervade or diffuse itself (as scent); pret. ඇමුවා; v. n. ඇමීම.

අව හිරකරනවා, v. t. to straiten, hamper, obstruct, block up, barricade.

අව හිරය, n. block, obstruction, straitness.

අහුරනවා, v. t. to set up, compose (as type), arrange, pile; to block up, stop up, close (a gap &c.); pret. ඇහුරුවා; v. n. ඇහිරීම.

ආ ධ්මාත, a. (ආ emp., ධ්මා to blow), flatulent, inflated, වාතපූර්‍ණ.

ආත්ම බන්ධු, n. one's own kinsman, blood-relation, ලේ නෑයා.

ආනන්තර්‍ය්‍ය කර්‍ම, n. pl. deeds or results without an interval, i. e. the five අකුසල් which are to be punished in the very next life, viz. matricide, patricide, the murder of a Rahat, shedding blood of a Buddha, schism (amongst the priesthood, සංඝභේදය), and the eight කුසල් or අෂ්ටසමාපති which are to be at once rewarded.

ආයත චතුරස්‍රය, ආයතය, n. oblong.

ආස්ඵෝටනය, n. blowing, පිපීම; closing, වැසීම; bapping, clapping hands, අත්පිඩි ගැසීම.
