අ නිභූතමාන, අ නිහතමනී, a. unbending, නොනැ ‍මෙන, rigid, තද, uncondescending, යටත් පහත් නොවන, haughty, ආඩම්බර.

අ නියම් මිනිමැරීම, n. manbaughter (not wilful).

අ ශික්ෂිත, a. untaught, untrained, පුහුණුවක් නැති; නොහික්මුණු; indecent, filthy, disgusting, කැත, පිළිකුල්, col. අසික්කිත.

අක්ෂරාගම, n. gram. insertion of letters, augment. See ආගම.

අකුරකින් විදිනවා, v. to shoot with a small stone for augury. This is done by taking stones between the two fore-fingers and projecting them against the bark and leaves of trees and then predicting coming events according to the marks made by the stones.

අකුරු මඩුව, n. shed where the alphabet or reading is taught, school, ඉස්කෝලය.

අගම්, n. E. of ආගම: system of religion; gram. augmentation.

අට්ට හාසය, අට්ට හාස්‍යය, n. loud laughter, roar of laughter, හයියෙන් සිනාසීම.

අතකුරු ගසනවා, v. to throw small stones with the hand for augury. See අකුරකින් විදිනවා.

අත් මානම්කාරයා, n. one who throws with his hands for augury. See අකුරකින් විදිනවා.

අති පරි හාස්‍ය, a. very laughable, very droll, සිනා උපදවන විහිලු.

අති හාසය, n. excessive laughter, loud laugh, අධික සිනාව, තදින් සිනාසීම.

අද්‍රි තනයා, n. lit. mountain-daughter, viz. daughter of Himālaya: ap. of Durgā, පාර්‍වතී.

අධ්‍යාපිත, a taught, instructed, ශික්ෂිත.

අනධ්‍යාපිත, a. (අන් අධ්‍යාපිත), untaught, uninstructed, නූගත්, නූගන්වනලද.
