අ ප්‍රත්‍යාඛ්‍යෙය, a. (අ priv., ප්‍රති against, ආ ඛ්‍යෙය affirmable), not to be denied or refuted, undeniable, irrefutable, නැතැයි කිය නොහැකිවූ (කාරණ).

අ ප්‍රති සන්ධික, a. (අ priv., ප්‍රති again, සන්ධික uniting), free from further transmigration, සසරින් මිදුණ.

අ මර පුර නිකාය, n. Amarapura sect of Buddhists introduced into Ceylon about A. D. 1800 by Ambagahapitiya priest; the priests of this sect are in communion with priests of Burma.

අ යෝඬ්‍ය, a. (අ priv., යුධ් to fight), not to be warred against, impregnable. E. S.

අකුරකින් විදිනවා, v. to shoot with a small stone for augury. This is done by taking stones between the two fore-fingers and projecting them against the bark and leaves of trees and then predicting coming events according to the marks made by the stones.

අගරු, අගුරු, n. agal wood, aloe wood, agallochum.

අගස්ති, අගස්ත්‍ය, n. a rishi so named, who, according to mythology, was born in a water jar, once swallowed the ocean, but voided it again, and is the regent of the star Canopus.

අටඟ මිණ, n. (අට අඟ) octagonal gem: one was given by Sakra to king Kusa, which, applied to his face, removed its ugliness and made it beautiful. so that his wife received him again.

අත්‍යන්ත, a. (අති අන්ත), very extreme, very much, excessive, boundless, extravagant, stupendous, ඉතාමත්ම.

අති ක්‍රමිකතාව, n. excessiveness, &c., extravagancy, rampancy, අධිකකම, වැඩිකම.

අනු ලාප, a. (අනු again, ලාප saying), tautological.

අනු ලෝම, අනු ලෝමික, a. lit. with the hair, viz. the way of–not against–the grain, in natural order, regular, අනුක්‍රමික. See ප්‍රති ලෝම.

අප චාරය, n. (අප off, against), hostile or bad conduct, නපුරු හැසිරීම.

අප වාදක a. (අප against, වාදක uttering), dispraising, censuring, වරද තබන; banderous, කේලම් සහිත.
