අ ඥාන ගෝචර, a. accordant with folly, suitable for or accepted by the ignorant, foolish.

අකුරකින් විදිනවා, v. to shoot with a small stone for augury. This is done by taking stones between the two fore-fingers and projecting them against the bark and leaves of trees and then predicting coming events according to the marks made by the stones.

අගස්ති, අගස්ත්‍ය, n. a rishi so named, who, according to mythology, was born in a water jar, once swallowed the ocean, but voided it again, and is the regent of the star Canopus.

අන්තඃ කල්පය, n. a certain number of years in Buddhism: according to B. man's age increases by imperceptible degrees from ten years to an Asankhya (අසංඛ්‍ය) and then decreases in the same way to ten years: the period required for this is an Antahkalpa. See අසංඛ්‍ය.

අන්වර්‍ථ, a (අනු අර්‍ථ), accordant with the meaning, අර්‍ථයට එකඟ.

අනු කූල, a. accordant, apposite, compatible, conformable, pertinent, kindred, congruous, ඉනංගු, හුරු.

අනු කූලතාව, අනු කූලත්වය, n. accordance, appositeness, &c., ඉනංගුකම.

අනු කූලව, ad. in accordance with, suitably to, relevantly,ඉනංගු‍ලෙස.

අනු ගතව, ad. following, according to, in accordance with, අනුකූලව.

අනු ගුණ, a. according to the quality: congenial, kindred, suitable, හුරු, සමවූ, සුදුසු.

අනු ඥාත, a. (අනු according to, ඥා to know), ordered; permitted, sanctioned; අවසර සහිත.

අනු පෙර, a. according to the preceding, consecutive. See අනුපුර්‍ව.

අනු මිති, අනු මිත්‍යාකාර, a. (අනු according, මිති measuring, ආකාර), inferential, deductive, illative. E. S.
