අල්පේශාක්‍ය, a. of little power, බල අඩුවූ.

තිලක, a. spotted, freckled, having moles or marks, ලප ඇත්තාවූ; distinguished, eminent, chief, as ශාක්‍යකුලතිලක ගෞතම, Gautama chief of the Sākya race.

ද්වා·දශාක්‍ෂ, n. the twelve-eyed one, ap. of Kārtikéya.

වි·ජය, n. (වි emp., ජි to conquer), victory, ජය; a sort of spear; ap. of king අර්ජුන and of යම, name also of that famous king of the ශාක්‍ය race who came to Ceylon with 700 followers, subdued the inhabitants, brought settlers from India and established the Sinhalese Monarchy; car of the gods, දිව්‍යරථය; twenty-seventh year of the Indian cycle of sixty-years.

ශාක්‍ය·කුලය, n. (ශක් to be able), the Mighty or Sākya race, a people so called who took their rise by separating from the kingdom of lkshwāku or Okkāka, the first king of the Hindus. They followed the four sons of their king into banishment, and finding an unoccupied district built there as their capital the city Kapilavastu. From a prince of this race after many generations Gautama Buddha was descended.
