ත්‍රි·විද්‍යාව, n. threefold or three kinds of knowledge; ap. of the three principle Vedas: Rig, Yajur and Sāma; in B., knowledge of three important things, viz. අනිත්‍යය, දුඃඛය අනාත්මය: i.e., impermanancy, sorrow (of all existence), and the non-existence of a permanent self. This is one of the chief doctrines of B., and the chief study of all B. ascetics.

දුඃඛ·ක්‍ෂය, n. extinction of sorrow: ap. of Nirvāna, නිවන.

දුඃඛ·ජනක, a. afflictive, distressing, woeful, දුක් උපදවන.

දුඃඛ·දායක, a. giving sorrow, afflictive, distressing. grievous: see දුක්ඛජනක.

දුඃඛ·නාට්‍ය, දුඃඛ·නාට්‍යාකාර, a. (in theatricals) tragic.

දුඃඛ·නාට්‍ය·කරුවා, n. tragedian, actor of tragedy.

දුඃඛ·නාට්‍ය·රචනාකාරයා, n. tragedian, writer of tragedy.

දුඃඛ·නාට්‍යය, n. theatrical tragedy.

දුඃඛ·නිරෝධ·සත්‍යය, n. B., the truth or doctrine of the extinction of sorrow, which extinction takes place on the attainment of Nirvāna. See චතුරාර්‍ය්‍යසත්‍ය.
