උපේක්ෂක, උ‍පේක්ෂා, a. (උප over, ඊක්ෂ to look), overlooking, neglectful, indifferent, unconcerned, neutral, stoical, නොසලකා අරින, මධ්‍යස්ථ.

උපේක්ෂකතාව, උපේක්ෂාව, n. neglectfulness, negligence &c., neutrality, stoical state.

උපේක්ෂකාකාරයෙන්, ad. neglectfully, unconcernedly, neutrally, නොසැලකිලිලෙස, අපක්ෂ පාතලෙස.

උපේක්ෂණය, උපේක්ෂාව, n. neglecting, abandoning; negligence, indifference, neglect; නොසලකා ඇරීම, අපාශ්වගතිය.

උපේක්ෂණයකරනවා, v. t. to negleot, act unconcernedly, show indifference, නොසලකා අරි නවා.

උපේක්ෂා පාරමිතාව, n. B., attainment or observance of stoicism or perfect indifference to all things: see පාරමිතාව.

Each one of these, expressing the observance generally, is subdivided into උප, secondary, and පරමාර්‍ථ, paramount or supreme: expressing an inferior or pre-eminent observance of the duty, as දානෝපපාරමිතාව, referring to gifts of secondary or inferior kind, such as gold, silver &c., and දානපරමාර්‍ථ පාරමිතාව, to gifts of the highest kind, such as wife, children, one's own body &c. These make in all සමත්‍රිංශත් පාරමිතා, viz. a total of thirty පාරමිතා.

බ්‍රහ්ම·විහරණය, n. Brahminic living or behaviour, viz. living imbued with the four virtues of friendliness, compassion, satisfaction or content, and impassiveness or stoicism; මෛත්‍රි, කරුණා, මුදිතා, උපේක්‍ෂා යන ගුණවලින් යුක්තව විසීම or හැසිරීම.
